Nuestra Gente, Nuestra Cultura Art Exhibition Grand Opening Held at Eagle Pass Art & Culture Center

A vibrant new art exhibition, Nuestra Gente, Nuestra Cultura, opened this week at the Eagle Pass Art and Culture Center in Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at the Eagle Pass Art & Culture Center, announced Yocelyn Riojas of the Border Artists Society. 

 This binational art exhibition reveals an intimate look at life, culture, and community along the United States-Mexico border. Nuestra Gente, Nuestra Cultura is “an art exhibition to uplift and honor the fronteriza experience,” this show invites visitors to immerse themselves into sights, traditions, and individual stories which define the borderlands.

The Border Artist Society and City of Eagle Pass joined in a collaborative effort to create this special exhibition which will be available from August 7th to September 30, 2025 at the Eagle Pass Art & Culture Center, located at 364 E. Main Street in downtown Eagle Pass. Admission is completely free to the public, allowing access to all members of the community. 

With over 30 participants, this art exhibition includes talented artists from Eagle Pass and surrounding areas such as Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, Laredo, Uvalde, El Paso, San Benito, Brownsville, and Rio Grande City, truly capturing the border life experience. 

A variety of sculptures, paintings, prints, photography, and other mixed art mediums are presented, giving the public the opportunity to view its community from unique perspectives. 

“If you have a lived border experience, please come share with us,” voiced the BAS executive director, Yocelyn Riojas, “there is so much creativity to embrace.”  The art exhibition is open to all ages and can be enjoyed by everyone in the family.  Bring your children, spouse, partner, family, friends, and co-workers to view and appreciate the unique art interpretations presented in the art exhibition. 

The Border Artist Society’s mission is to bring “border artists together to create, inspire, and advocate for the arts in Eagle Pass,” which this exhibit showcases through storytelling, cultural preservation, and unity through creativity.  

The Eagle Pass Art and Culture Center is located at 364 Main Street, Suite 1, Eagle Pass, Texas 78852, and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Every third Wednesday of the month, the Border Artist Society holds public meetings at 7 p.m. at Night Owl Artworkz & Studio, which is located at 1775 El Indio Hwy Suite 3, Eagle Pass, TX.
